Public Counsel has teamed up with Legendary Entertainment, a global entertainment studio, to launch a free legal webinar series to help California’s entertainment workers access unemployment benefits and other support under the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act. The unemployment assistance series – called Helping Entertainment Labor and Professionals (HELP) – will offer free webinars to provide members of the entertainment community a resource to understand available unemployment benefits and provide up-to-date information.

Public Counsel has prepared FAQs on applying for unemployment benefits. The FAQs provide basic information concerning your eligibility for regular state unemployment benefits then discuss the new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program as provided by the Federal CARES Act.

As we have done in similar situations such as the recent wild fires and other natural disasters, we are working with members on a case-by-case basis. First Entertainment’s additional assistance for members impacted by the coronavirus includes:

Visa® Credit Cards: Skip payment option, refunds on late fees.

Personal Loans: Deferred payments, with payments added to the end of the loan.

Auto Loans: Deferred payments, with payments added to the end of the loan.

First Mortgage Loans: Forbearance on payments can be requested here.

Home Equity Loans/Lines of Credit: Members can request to Defer payments, with payments added to the end of their amortized HELOCs and members with Interest-Only HELOCs can request a Forbearance on their payments.

For all of the above instances, there will be no negative credit bureau reporting during the deferment period. In addition, we may be able to offer you a low interest bridge loan to help you get back on your feet. To learn more, give us a call at 888.800.3328.
